Location: New York, NY
A leading national law firm is seeking a Senior Associate with 5+ years of Labor & Employment litigation experience to join its management-side practice in New York.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced employment litigator to take significant ownership of sophisticated matters, including responsibility for day-to-day case management, depositions, substantive drafting, client interaction and court appearances.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent employers in complex labor and employment litigation
- Manage matters and day-to-day case responsibilities
- Interview witnesses and develop case strategy
- Review and manage electronically stored information
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs and other substantive filings
- Conduct and defend depositions
- Attend court appearances and manage interactions with opposing counsel
- Advise clients on federal and state employment laws
- Work directly with clients on litigation strategy and risk management
- Support workplace counseling matters where appropriate
Who You Are:
- 5+ years of relevant Labor & Employment litigation experience
- Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including Title VII, ADEA, FMLA, ADA and FLSA
- Experience with trade secret and related state employment laws
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage significant aspects of litigation
- Deposition, discovery and substantive drafting experience
- Workplace counseling experience is beneficial, but not required
- Experience with wage and hour, employee relations, accommodations, employment agreements, RIFs and employment policies is a plus
- Strong academic credentials
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Admission to the New York State and federal courts required
Compensation:
Salary Range: $275,000 – $310,000 (DOE)
Successful candidates are also eligible for a discretionary bonus.
