A leading national law firm is seeking a mid-level transactional associate to join its highly regarded Sports Practice Group. This is a standout opportunity for an attorney with sports industry deal experience to work on some of the most dynamic and commercially significant transactions in professional sports, entertainment, and live events.

The successful candidate will advise on a broad range of commercial agreements and strategic transactions across the sports ecosystem, representing sophisticated stakeholders such as teams, leagues, venues, brands, sponsors, media platforms, and institutional sports-related entities.

This role offers hands-on involvement in high-profile transactional matters, including sponsorship and partnership agreements, naming rights deals, media rights arrangements, merchandising agreements, venue operations and development agreements, premium seating and hospitality agreements, licensing matters, franchise transactions, and strategic joint ventures.

Beyond sports-specific commercial work, the position may also provide exposure to adjacent transactional disciplines such as corporate, intellectual property, and real estate, offering a well-rounded platform for continued growth and specialization.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-moving, deal-driven environment and bring strong commercial instincts, excellent drafting skills, and the ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships. Candidate Requirements:

  • JD required
  • Must have prior experience working in a law firm
  • 4–5 years of transactional legal experience
  • Direct experience handling sports-related commercial transactions preferred
  • Strong experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements
  • Experience with sponsorship, licensing, media rights, venue operations, or franchise-related transactions is highly desirable
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and client-management skills
  • Strong academic credentials and transactional drafting ability
  • Active bar admission in the jurisdiction where the candidate is based
