Litigation Associate
Location: Salt Lake City, UT
A leading national law firm is seeking a 2+ year Litigation Associate to join its Salt Lake City office. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to develop their litigation experience while taking on meaningful responsibility across a diverse range of disputes.
The successful candidate will work closely with experienced partners on complex litigation matters, with opportunities to take depositions, argue motions, attend hearings and arbitrations, and gain valuable trial experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research and analysis across a range of litigation matters
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs and other substantive legal documents
- Take and defend depositions and prepare witnesses for deposition
- Represent clients in court appearances, mediations, arbitrations and hearings
- Assist with trial preparation and participate in key litigation events
- Manage and prioritise a diverse caseload
- Develop and implement litigation strategies alongside partners
- Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel and other parties
Who You Are:
- 2+ years of litigation experience within a law firm
- Experience advocating directly for clients
- Insurance, medical malpractice, water law, personal injury or general litigation experience preferred
- Strong experience with motion practice, depositions and litigation strategy
- Excellent academic credentials
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Strong organisational, problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to manage multiple matters and work independently
- Active Utah Bar admission
Compensation:
Salary Range: $155,000 – $175,000 (DOE)
