A leading global firm is seeking a junior to mid-level associate to join its highly ranked Technology Transactions – Life Sciences team in Boston. This group handles sophisticated transactions in biotech, pharma, medtech, and digital health, representing early-stage startups to public life sciences companies.
This is a partner-track opportunity offering immediate responsibility, top-tier mentorship, and exposure to cutting-edge deals in the life sciences space.
About the Team
This practice is part of a top-tier Technology Transactions group, advising on the full product and company lifecycle—from R&D through commercialization and exit. Clients include biotech and pharmaceutical companies, diagnostics innovators, research institutions, and investors.
You’ll work on:

Licensing, collaboration, R&D, supply, and manufacturing agreements

IP strategy and commercialization

Clinical trial and contract research agreements

IP and commercial due diligence on M&A and venture deals

Multidisciplinary matters involving corporate, IP, regulatory, and litigation teams

Key Responsibilities

Structure, draft, and negotiate licensing, collaboration, and strategic partnership agreements

Manage commercial and IP elements of venture financings, M&A, and joint ventures

Interface directly with clients, counterparties, and cross-functional teams

Support due diligence and advise on risk allocation and regulatory considerations

Contribute to client strategy and long-term relationship building
Who You Are
-
3–6 years’ experience in tech or life sciences transactions at a top firm or in-house
-
Familiarity with licensing, collaborations, and commercial agreements in life sciences
-
J.D. from an accredited law school and admitted in Massachusetts
-
Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills
-
Background in biological sciences, chemistry, or business is a plus
Compensation
Base Salary: $260,000 – $390,000 (DOE)
Bonuses: Discretionary performance bonus
