A leading international law firm is seeking a highly qualified associate to join its Tax Controversy and Litigation team. The group advises multinational corporations and high-profile clients on complex disputes, offering the opportunity to work on sophisticated, often novel issues involving federal tax law, transfer pricing, and cross-border matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support all stages of tax controversy and litigation, including audits, administrative appeals, and federal court proceedings.

  • Draft legal memoranda, briefs, and submissions addressing complex tax and procedural issues.

  • Conduct detailed legal research and analysis on domestic and international tax concepts.

  • Collaborate with partners and colleagues on strategic approaches to high-stakes disputes.

  • Engage directly with clients and government agencies on technical tax matters.

Who You Are:

  • 1–3 years of experience in tax controversy or tax litigation.

  • Strong academic credentials with excellent writing, communication, and analytical skills.

  • Creative thinker with the ability to approach complex tax problems from multiple angles.

  • Knowledge of international tax or transfer pricing concepts preferred.

  • Experience at the IRS, DOJ Tax Division, or a federal judicial clerkship is advantageous.

Compensation:

Salary Range: $225,000 – $310,000 DOE
