Location: Palo Alto, CA
A premier technology-focused law firm is seeking a 4th–6th year Associate to join its nationally recognised Tax practice (Multiple Offices). This is an exceptional opportunity to advise innovative technology, life sciences and growth-stage companies on sophisticated domestic and international tax matters throughout all stages of their business lifecycle.
The role offers broad exposure to complex transactional tax work and close collaboration with corporate, capital markets and intellectual property teams across the firm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise clients on federal, state and international tax matters
- Support mergers and acquisitions, capital markets transactions and corporate finance matters
- Counsel clients on equity financings and strategic transactions
- Advise on technology transfers, licensing arrangements and collaboration agreements
- Assist with domestic and international tax planning strategies
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide integrated tax advice
- Support emerging growth companies and established market leaders across the technology and life sciences sectors
Who You Are:
- 4th–6th year associate
- Experience in transactional tax matters
- Background in mergers and acquisitions, capital markets and corporate finance preferred
- Experience advising on equity financings, technology transfers and licensing arrangements preferred
- Exposure to domestic and international tax planning matters
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong work ethic with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Superior academic credentials
Compensation:
Salary Range: $310,000 – $390,000 (DOE based on class year)
