A global law firm is seeking a 6th–9th year Associate to join its highly regarded Tax practice in Salt Lake City. The role provides significant responsibility, direct client contact and the opportunity to work alongside nationally recognised tax practitioners on market-leading transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise clients on the tax aspects of sophisticated domestic and cross-border transactions
- Structure and negotiate tax provisions in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and other strategic transactions
- Counsel clients on partnership and corporate tax matters
- Advise on capital markets, private equity and financing transactions
- Draft and negotiate transactional documentation from a tax perspective
- Work directly with clients to develop practical and commercially focused tax solutions
- Collaborate with corporate, finance and private equity teams on complex transactions
- Mentor junior associates and take a leading role on transaction teams
Who You Are:
- 6th–9th year associate
- Significant experience in transactional tax matters
- Experience advising on mergers and acquisitions, partnership transactions and financing transactions
- Strong drafting, analytical and negotiation skills
- Excellent academic credentials
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage complex matters and maintain direct client relationships
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
- LL.M. in Taxation preferred but not required
