A highly regarded transactional practice is seeking an experienced Private Equity M&A Associate to join its growing St. Louis team. This role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated middle-market transactions while taking on meaningful responsibility across the full deal lifecycle.
The Role
The associate will play a key role advising private equity sponsors and other strategic clients on complex corporate transactions, with a strong emphasis on mergers and acquisitions. Responsibilities include:

Drafting and negotiating definitive and ancillary transaction documents

Supporting acquisitions, divestitures, and add-on transactions

Managing matters from initial structuring through closing and post-transaction integration

Collaborating across disciplines on governance, financing, and operational considerations
Associates work closely with deal teams and clients, including private equity funds, portfolio companies, founders, and management teams, and are trusted with significant responsibility early on.

Candidate Profile
-
JD from an accredited law school
-
Prior experience practicing at a law firm
-
3+ years of sophisticated transactional and M&A experience

Strong focus on private equity–backed transactions

Excellent academic credentials with strong research, drafting, and communication skills

Ability to quickly grasp complex subject matter and manage multiple workstreams

Admission to a U.S. state bar (Missouri admission required)
