A leading global law firm is seeking a Private Equity Associate to join its Chicago office. This is a confidential search for an accomplished M&A/PE attorney with 2–6 years of experience at a top-tier firm. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of leading complex private equity and M&A transactions and is ready to take their career to the next level in a high-profile, client-facing role.

Salary Range: $235,000 – $420,000, dependent on experience and market location

The Role:

• Advise strategic buyers, sellers, and private equity clients on high-value M&A and PE transactions

• Lead drafting, negotiation, and due diligence across complex, often cross-border deals

• Work alongside market-leading partners and a globally connected team of corporate lawyers

• Manage multiple deals and coordinate across internal and external stakeholders

Candidate Profile:

• 2–6 years of private equity and M&A experience at an AmLaw 100 or equivalent firm

• JD from an accredited law school; admitted to practice in Illinois

• Excellent analytical, drafting, and negotiation skills

• Commercially minded, proactive, and able to manage complex transactions independently

• Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work collaboratively
