A premier international law firm is seeking a 1st–5th year Associate to join its highly regarded Private Client Services practice in New York. This is an exceptional opportunity to advise high-net-worth individuals, family offices and business owners on sophisticated trusts and estates matters within a multidisciplinary private wealth platform.
The role offers exposure to complex estate planning, transfer tax issues and family wealth preservation strategies, alongside opportunities to work closely with leading practitioners on sensitive and high-profile matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise clients on sophisticated trusts and estates matters
- Assist with estate planning and succession planning strategies for high-net-worth individuals and families
- Counsel clients on transfer tax and associated income tax issues
- Support family offices and closely held businesses with wealth preservation and business succession matters
- Draft and review estate planning documents and related instruments
- Collaborate with attorneys across tax, real estate and other practice areas to provide integrated advice
- Assist with complex domestic and international private client planning matters
Who You Are:
- 1st–5th year associate
- Experience in trusts and estates, transfer tax and related income tax matters
- Minimum of 2–3 years of trusts and estates experience preferred
- Strong interest in sophisticated private client work
- LL.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning completed or in progress is welcomed
- Experience with international tax planning is a plus
- Excellent academic credentials
- Strong written, analytical and interpersonal skills
- Licensed, or eligible to become licensed, in the relevant jurisdiction
Compensation:
Salary Range: $225,000 – $365,000 (DOE)
Benefits: Eligibility for an hours-based bonus together with a comprehensive benefits package.
