A leading New England law firm is seeking a 5+ year Tax Attorney to join its growing Tax practice in New Hampshire. This is an excellent opportunity to work with businesses, private equity sponsors and high-net-worth individuals on sophisticated tax matters while enjoying a collaborative culture, flexible hybrid working and genuine long-term career progression.
The successful candidate will advise on complex transactional tax matters while playing an active role in business development and the continued growth of the practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise clients on complex tax structuring for mergers and acquisitions
- Counsel businesses and individuals on partnership and federal income tax matters
- Support private equity transactions and sophisticated corporate tax planning
- Advise on federal and state tax controversy matters where applicable
- Assist with executive compensation and employee benefits matters, including ERISA, where relevant
- Provide strategic tax advice on a broad range of commercial transactions
- Develop strong client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives
Who You Are:
- 5+ years of tax law experience
- Experience advising on M&A tax structuring, partnership taxation, federal income tax and private equity transactions
- Experience in tax controversy, ERISA or executive compensation is advantageous but not essential
- Background in private practice, the IRS or a leading accounting firm
- Strong academic credentials
- Excellent analytical, drafting and communication skills
- Client-focused with an entrepreneurial mindset and interest in practice development
- Admitted in New Hampshire and Massachusetts, or eligible to waive into both jurisdictions
