Litigation Associate
Location: Los Angeles, CA
A leading global law firm is seeking a 3rd–5th year Associate to join its Commercial Litigation practice in Los Angeles. This is an outstanding opportunity to work on sophisticated business disputes for national and multinational clients across a wide range of industries, alongside experienced trial lawyers in a collaborative and entrepreneurial environment.
The role offers significant responsibility, meaningful client exposure and the opportunity to work on complex commercial litigation matters in both state and federal courts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in complex commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs and other substantive court filings
- Conduct legal research and develop strategic litigation positions
- Manage traditional and electronic discovery processes
- Take and defend depositions and assist with witness preparation
- Appear before state and federal courts
- Support trial preparation and other litigation milestones
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on disputes involving corporate governance, financial services, real estate, insurance, entertainment, M&A and regulatory matters
- Develop practical, commercially focused solutions for sophisticated clients
Who You Are:
- 3rd–5th year associate
- Strong commercial litigation experience
- Experience at a mid-sized or large law firm preferred
- Experience drafting pleadings, briefs and substantive motions
- Strong legal research, writing and oral advocacy skills
- Experience managing traditional and eDiscovery matters
- Deposition and court appearance experience
- Federal judicial clerkship experience is a plus
- Excellent academic credentials
- Active California Bar admission and good standing
Compensation:
Salary Range: $235,000 – $365,000 (DOE)
