A leading global law firm is seeking a 7th–10th year Associate to join its Labor & Employment practice in Los Angeles. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced employment counsellor to serve as a strategic advisor to employers ranging from national businesses to multinational organisations on complex workplace issues and day-to-day employment matters.

The role offers substantial client contact and the opportunity to partner directly with HR professionals, in-house counsel and business leaders to develop practical, business-focused employment solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise employers on a broad range of employment law matters affecting California, national and multinational workforces
  • Counsel clients on wage and hour compliance, leaves of absence, disability accommodations, employee relations, workforce restructurings, employee discipline and terminations
  • Draft, review and implement employee handbooks, workplace policies and employment-related agreements
  • Conduct workplace audits, internal investigations and risk assessments
  • Deliver management training on employment law compliance and best practices
  • Develop practical compliance strategies aligned with clients’ operational and business objectives
  • Identify legal and operational risks and provide actionable guidance to mitigate exposure
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with HR leaders, in-house counsel and executive stakeholders
  • Advise on emerging workplace compliance obligations and regulatory developments

Who You Are:

  • 7th–10th year associate
  • Extensive experience counselling California employers on employment law matters
  • Experience advising national and multinational employers preferred
  • Strong background in wage and hour compliance, employee relations and workplace policies
  • Experience drafting and implementing employment agreements and compliance documentation
  • Experience conducting workplace investigations and management training strongly preferred
  • Occupational health and safety compliance experience preferred
  • Prevailing wage compliance experience preferred
  • Excellent judgement, research abilities and client-service skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build long-term client relationships
  • Licensed and in good standing with the California Bar

Compensation:
Salary Range: $375,000 – $400,000 (DOE)
