A well-established employment and labor practice is seeking an associate to join its growing Employment, Labor & Workforce Management team in New York. The practice advises employers on the full spectrum of labor and employment matters, with a particular focus on traditional labor law and workforce strategy.

This role offers meaningful client exposure, hands-on responsibility, and the opportunity to work closely with experienced practitioners in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise and represent employers on labor and employment matters under federal and state law.

  • Handle traditional labor matters, including issues arising under the National Labor Relations Act and union-related matters.

  • Provide day-to-day employment counselling to management teams on compliance, workforce policies, and employee relations.

  • Represent employers in administrative proceedings and related disputes.

  • Draft memoranda, position statements, and other written advocacy materials.

  • Participate in client development initiatives and professional networking activities.

Who You Are:

  • At least 3 years of labor and employment experience representing employers.

  • Strong grounding in traditional labor law, including union-related matters and NLRA issues.

  • Excellent academic credentials with strong writing and communication skills.

  • Comfortable with direct client interaction and advisory work.

  • Commercial, practical approach to problem-solving in a fast-moving practice.

Compensation:

  • Salary Range: $220,000 – $275,000 DOE

  • Bonus: Discretionary performance-based bonus
