Environmental Litigation Associate
Location: Washington, DC or Richmond, VA

A leading international law firm is seeking a 4+ year Associate to join its nationally recognised Environmental Law practice. This is a partnership-track opportunity offering exposure to complex, precedent-setting environmental matters across a range of regulatory and litigation issues.

The team is highly collaborative and offers strong mentoring, direct client contact and long-term, high-impact project work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Advise clients on environmental compliance, enforcement and regulatory matters
• Support environmental litigation and agency proceedings
• Assist with permitting and regulatory authorisations
• Provide guidance on agency rulemaking and policy developments
• Work closely with clients on complex, long-term environmental projects

Who You Are:

• 4+ years of environmental law experience
• Experience across compliance, enforcement, litigation and/or regulatory matters
• Background in private practice, government or trade association environments preferred
• Strong academic credentials
• Excellent research, writing and communication skills
• Highly motivated with strong intellectual curiosity and sound judgment
• Team-oriented with the ability to manage multiple matters
• Virginia Bar membership preferred (or willingness to obtain within one year)

Compensation:
Salary Range: $260,000 – $435,000 (DOE)
