Employment Litigation Associate
Location: Portland, OR
A nationally recognised management-side Employment, Labor & Workforce Management practice is seeking an Associate to join its growing Portland office. This is an opportunity to work within a sophisticated employment litigation team advising employers on high-stakes disputes and complex workplace matters.
The role offers exposure to both litigation and advisory work across a broad range of federal and state employment laws.
Key Responsibilities:

Represent employers in employment litigation matters in federal and state courts

Contribute to case strategy development and overall litigation planning

Draft pleadings, motions and substantive briefs

Conduct and defend depositions

Review electronically stored information and manage discovery processes

Appear in court and interact with clients and opposing counsel

Advise clients on workplace law issues including wage and hour, ADA accommodations, employee relations and risk mitigation

Counsel on employment agreements, reductions-in-force and employment policies
Who You Are:
-
Relevant employment litigation experience
-
Knowledge of federal and state labor and employment laws including Title VII, ADEA, FMLA, ADA, FLSA and related state statutes

Strong academic credentials

Excellent written and oral communication skills
-
Experience providing employment counselling is advantageous

Admitted to practice in Oregon; California admission or willingness to sit for the California Bar is a plus
