Commercial Litigation Associate (Trade Secrets Focus)
Location: San Francisco, CA
A highly regarded international law firm is seeking an Associate with 5 or more years of experience to join its Litigation practice in San Francisco. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex commercial litigation, with a strong emphasis on sophisticated business and trade secret disputes.
Associates will take on significant responsibility within a collaborative team, working directly with clients on high-stakes matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in complex commercial and trade secret litigation matters
- Draft pleadings, motions and substantive briefs
- Manage key litigation workstreams, including discovery and motion practice
- Take and defend depositions and prepare witnesses
- Support trial preparation and court appearances
- Work closely with clients on case strategy and execution
Who You Are:
- 5+ years of complex commercial litigation experience
- Strong experience with trade secret disputes
- Excellent academic credentials (judicial clerkship a plus)
- Exceptional research, writing and oral advocacy skills
- Experience managing discovery, depositions and pretrial preparation
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of matters
- Strong organisational and client-facing skills
- Admitted to the California Bar
Compensation:
Salary Range: $275,000 – $375,000 (DOE)
Benefits: Comprehensive bonus structure including productivity, merit and origination bonuses (potential $10,000–$200,000+), plus full benefits package
