Location: Salt Lake City, UT
A leading Am Law firm is seeking a 4th–6th year Associate (Class of 2022–2020) to join its Commercial Litigation practice in Salt Lake City. This is an excellent opportunity to work on sophisticated business disputes across state and federal courts while gaining substantial responsibility and direct client exposure within a highly collaborative litigation team.
The role offers broad exposure to all phases of complex commercial litigation, including motion practice, depositions, discovery management, settlement strategy and trial preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle complex business litigation matters in state and federal courts
- Conduct and manage written discovery and document productions
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs and other substantive court filings
- Conduct and defend depositions
- Prepare witnesses for testimony, hearings and trial
- Appear at status conferences and argue motions
- Participate in settlement conferences and negotiations
- Support trial teams through all stages of trial preparation
- Work directly with clients and partners on litigation strategy and case management
Who You Are:
- 4th–6th year associate (Class of 2022–2020)
- Significant experience in complex business litigation
- Strong motion practice, discovery and deposition experience
- Persuasive legal writer and oral advocate
- Experience appearing in state and federal courts
- Trial preparation experience preferred
- Strong academic credentials
- Positive, collaborative and client-focused approach
- Active member of the Utah Bar or eligible for prompt admission
Compensation:
Salary Range: $290,000 – $350,000 (DOE)
