Bankruptcy & Restructuring Associate

A well-regarded bankruptcy and restructuring practice is seeking a junior associate to join its creditor-focused bankruptcy team in New York. This role offers early responsibility and hands-on exposure to complex Chapter 11 matters, representing a broad range of sophisticated creditor-side clients.
The position is well suited to a junior attorney looking to build a strong foundation in commercial bankruptcy and restructuring, with meaningful court exposure and substantive drafting responsibility from the outset.
Key Responsibilities:

Draft pleadings, motions, and other bankruptcy-related court filings.

Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on complex restructuring issues.

Support representation of secured creditors, indenture trustees, claims traders, landlords, and asset acquirers.

Assist with discovery proceedings and participation in court hearings.

Take ownership of discrete workstreams and matters as experience develops.

Work closely with senior associates and partners on high-profile restructurings.
Who You Are:

Law school class of 2024 or 2025.

Strong interest in creditor-side bankruptcy and restructuring.

Excellent academic credentials with strong legal writing and research skills.

Detail-oriented, organised, and capable of handling responsibility early in your career.

Bar admission obtained or pending for recent 2025 graduates.

Prior bankruptcy coursework, internships, or clerkship experience is beneficial but not required.
Compensation:

Salary Range: $195,000 – $205,000 DOE
