A nationally recognised litigation firm is seeking an Associate with 2+ years of appellate and trial support experience to join its Appellate Practice Group. This is an exceptional opportunity to work on high-stakes appeals and trial matters, partnering closely with trial teams across a wide range of sophisticated disputes.
The role offers substantial courtroom exposure and the opportunity to play a critical role in preserving issues for appeal, developing legal strategy and supporting trial teams through all stages of litigation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support trial teams on complex litigation matters from pre-trial through appeal
- Draft appellate briefs, motions and other substantive filings
- Handle appellate oral arguments and legal motion hearings where appropriate
- Participate in charge conferences and trial strategy discussions
- Preserve appellate issues and maintain the trial record
- Conduct legal research and analyse complex legal issues
- Collaborate closely with trial lawyers on litigation and appellate strategy
- Assist clients with post-trial motions and appellate proceedings
Who You Are:
- Associate with 2+ years of appellate and trial support experience
- Experience handling appellate oral arguments and substantive motion practice
- Experience participating in trial proceedings and preserving the record
- Strong research, writing and analytical skills
- Excellent academic credentials
- Judicial clerkship experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to work effectively both independently and within a team environment
Compensation:
Salary Range: $150,000 – $215,000 (depending on location and experience)
