Real Estate Counsel Attorney – Data Centres & Digital Infrastructure
Real Estate Counsel Attorney – Data Centres & Digital Infrastructure
New York City or Northern New Jersey | 6+ Years | $390,000–$435,000
A sophisticated commercial real estate practice is seeking an experienced Real Estate Counsel to join its team in either New York City or Northern New Jersey.
The position offers an unusual combination of broad commercial real estate work and focused experience within the rapidly developing data center and digital infrastructure sector. It is particularly well suited to an attorney who has developed strong transactional fundamentals and wants to apply that experience to complex, infrastructure-intensive real estate projects.
The Opportunity
The successful candidate will advise on a broad range of sophisticated commercial real estate matters while taking a significant role in transactions involving data centers and digital infrastructure assets.
The practice encompasses:
- Commercial real estate acquisitions and dispositions.
- Complex leasing transactions.
- Real estate joint ventures.
- Debt and other real estate financing matters.
- Development projects.
- Data center and digital infrastructure transactions.
The role provides the opportunity to work across multiple stages of the real estate investment and development lifecycle rather than being confined to a single transaction type.
Given the nature of data center and digital infrastructure projects, candidates will have the opportunity to work on matters where real estate, development, investment and financing considerations intersect, providing valuable exposure to an increasingly significant area of the commercial real estate market.
Candidate Profile
Candidates should have:
- 6+ years of sophisticated commercial real estate transactional experience.
- A JD and previous experience working in a law firm.
- Substantial experience handling acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, joint ventures, financing and development matters.
- Specific transactional experience involving data centers and/or digital infrastructure.
- Strong drafting, negotiation and transaction-management skills.
- The ability to manage sophisticated matters with the judgment and autonomy expected at Counsel level.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, colleagues and transaction counterparties.
Why Consider This Role?
This opportunity offers an experienced real estate attorney the chance to combine a broad transactional practice with meaningful specialization in data centers and digital infrastructure.
As Counsel, you will have the opportunity to take substantial ownership of matters while continuing to deepen your expertise across complex real estate transactions. The breadth of the practice also provides scope to remain active across acquisitions, leasing, joint ventures, financing and development rather than becoming narrowly focused on one component of a transaction.
For a senior associate or existing counsel looking for greater responsibility, sophisticated deal exposure and a differentiated sector focus, this role provides a compelling platform for continued career development.
Candidates may be based in either New York City or Northern New Jersey.
Compensation
The expected salary range for relevant class years is $390,000–$435,000, with final compensation determined by individual qualifications and office location.
The position also includes a comprehensive benefits package with medical, dental and vision coverage, prescription benefits, life and disability insurance, retirement benefits and paid time off.
