A leading national law firm is seeking an Employment & Labor Associate with 3+ years of relevant experience to join its growing management-side practice in Chicago.
The successful candidate will advise and represent employers across a broad range of labor and employment matters, with a particular focus on traditional labor issues, union matters and employment counseling. The position offers substantial direct client contact alongside opportunities to become involved in professional and business development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise and represent employers on labor and employment matters
- Counsel clients on federal and state employment laws
- Handle traditional labor matters involving unions and organized workforces
- Advise employers on issues arising under the National Labor Relations Act
- Represent employers in connection with union-related matters
- Assist clients with day-to-day employment counseling and workforce issues
- Develop direct relationships with clients and take meaningful responsibility for matters
- Participate in professional and new client development opportunities
Who You Are:
- 3+ years of relevant labor and employment experience
- Law firm experience representing employers required
- Strong knowledge of the National Labor Relations Act
- Experience representing employers in connection with unions
- Experience advising employers on federal and state employment laws
- Strong academic credentials
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working directly with clients
- Interested in contributing to business and professional development
Compensation:
Salary Range: $220,000 – $275,000
Associates are also eligible for a discretionary bonus.
