Location: Pittsburgh, PA | Newark, NJ | Charleston, SC
A leading global law firm is seeking a 3-5 year Associate to join its nationally recognised Mass Tort & Product Liability practice. This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-profile, complex litigation matters as part of a collaborative, multi-office team.
The successful candidate will take on significant responsibility and client exposure across sophisticated mass tort and product liability matters, working directly with experienced litigators across multiple jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Defend clients in complex mass tort and product liability litigation
- Handle asbestos-related claims and develop effective causation defences
- Manage fact and expert discovery across complex litigation matters
- Take and defend depositions
- Draft and argue substantive motions
- Work closely with expert witnesses to develop litigation and causation strategies
- Assist with multidistrict litigation, class actions and complex commercial disputes
- Manage matters across state and federal courts in multiple jurisdictions
- Work directly with clients and take ownership of substantive aspects of cases
Who You Are:
- 3-5 years of mass tort and product liability litigation experience
- Substantive experience defending asbestos claims
- Experience with complex commercial disputes, multidistrict litigation and/or class actions strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience managing fact and expert discovery
- Strong deposition and substantive motion practice experience
- Experience developing causation defences and working with expert witnesses
- Strong written, analytical and advocacy skills
- Motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively
- Admitted in the applicable jurisdiction
Compensation:
Salary Range: $215,000 – $290,000 (DOE)
