Location: Los Angeles, CA
A nationally recognised law firm is seeking a 2nd–4th year Associate to join its highly regarded Labor & Employment practice in Los Angeles or San Francisco. This is an excellent opportunity to work with major national employers on sophisticated employment litigation, workplace counselling and traditional labor matters within a collaborative and fast-paced team.
The successful candidate will gain broad exposure to complex employment matters while working alongside experienced practitioners in one of the country’s leading labour and employment practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent employers in employment litigation, including single-plaintiff, class action and representative matters
- Advise clients on day-to-day employment law issues and workplace compliance
- Draft employment policies, handbooks and employment-related agreements
- Handle wage and hour matters and restrictive covenant disputes
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions and other substantive court filings
- Assist clients with discrimination, harassment, retaliation and wrongful termination matters
- Provide practical, commercially focused advice to national employers
- Work collaboratively across a broad range of labour and employment matters
Who You Are:
- 2nd–4th year associate
- Employment litigation and counselling experience
- Experience handling wage and hour matters, advice and counsel, and employment agreements
- Experience with restrictive covenants, single-plaintiff litigation and class actions preferred
- Traditional labor law experience is a plus
- Strong research, writing, analytical and advocacy skills
- Excellent academic credentials
- Active California Bar admission and good standing
- Motivated, collaborative and committed to delivering exceptional client service
Compensation:
Salary Range: $225,000 – $275,000 (DOE)
