Location: New York, NY
A leading international law firm is seeking a 5th–7th year Associate to join its growing Private Client Services practice in New York. This is an excellent opportunity to work with high-net-worth individuals and families on sophisticated estate planning, wealth preservation and estate administration matters within a collaborative and expanding private client team.
The successful candidate will take on significant client responsibility while advising on complex trusts and estates matters alongside experienced practitioners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise high-net-worth individuals and families on sophisticated estate planning matters
- Draft complex wills, trusts and other wealth transfer documents
- Manage estate and trust administration from probate through final distribution and closing
- Prepare client presentations and estate planning analyses
- Perform tax calculations and advise on transfer tax planning strategies
- Provide practical advice on trust and estate administration issues
- Supervise paralegals and coordinate workflow across client matters
- Build strong client relationships while working independently and collaboratively within the team
Who You Are:
- 5th–7th year associate
- Significant trusts and estates experience gained within a law firm
- Experience advising high-net-worth individuals and families
- Strong estate planning and estate administration experience
- Extensive drafting experience involving sophisticated wills and trusts
- Strong tax background
- LL.M. in Taxation (required)
- Excellent academic credentials
- Strong organisational, communication and client management skills
- Detail-oriented with supervisory experience preferred
- Admitted to the New York Bar or eligible to waive into New York
Compensation:
Salary Range: $285,000 – $365,000 (DOE)
