Location: Seattle, WA
A leading international law firm is seeking a 4th–7th year Associate to join its highly regarded Labor & Employment practice in Seattle. This is an excellent opportunity to work with sophisticated employers on complex employment litigation, counselling and transactional employment matters while taking on significant responsibility within a collaborative and entrepreneurial team.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build lasting client relationships, lead matters and work alongside nationally recognised practitioners on a broad range of employment issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent employers in complex employment litigation, including single-plaintiff and class action matters
- Draft summary judgment motions, dispositive motions and other substantive briefing
- Handle court appearances, depositions and all phases of litigation
- Manage written discovery and eDiscovery processes
- Draft motions to compel arbitration and oppositions to class certification motions
- Prepare separation agreements, offer letters, arbitration agreements and other employment-related documents
- Advise employers on workplace policies, employee handbooks, leaves of absence, disability accommodations, discipline, hiring and terminations
- Conduct labour and employment due diligence in connection with M&A transactions
- Supervise junior associates and maintain strong internal and external client relationships
Who You Are:
- 4th–7th year associate
- Significant employment law experience
- Strong employment litigation experience, including court appearances and depositions
- Experience at an Am Law 100 firm preferred
- Experience handling wage and hour litigation, class actions and client counselling preferred
- Experience drafting dispositive motions and complex employment agreements
- Labour and employment due diligence experience for M&A transactions highly preferred
- Federal judicial clerkship experience is a plus
- Excellent legal writing, analytical and communication skills
- Outstanding academic credentials
- Ability to lead matters and thrive in a collaborative environment
Compensation:
Salary Range: $260,000 – $420,000 (DOE)
