Location: Sacramento, CA
A leading global law firm is seeking a 3rd–6th year Associate to join its Litigation practice in Sacramento. This is an outstanding opportunity to work on sophisticated, high-stakes disputes across a broad range of industries while developing within a nationally recognised litigation platform.
The role offers exposure to all phases of complex litigation, including substantive motion practice, depositions, appeals, trial preparation and case strategy, alongside opportunities to mentor junior team members and assume significant responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle complex litigation matters in state and federal courts
- Analyse sophisticated legal issues and develop litigation strategies
- Draft substantive briefs and motions, including motions to dismiss, summary judgment motions and class certification briefing
- Prepare writs, appeals and other appellate filings
- Successfully argue motions before the court
- Conduct and defend depositions
- Support all phases of trial preparation
- Manage discovery and broader case management responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor junior associates
- Work directly with clients to provide strategic and practical litigation advice
Who You Are:
- 3rd–6th year associate
- Extensive experience in complex litigation matters
- Strong motion practice and brief writing experience
- Experience taking and defending depositions
- Trial preparation experience
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically
- Experience overseeing junior attorneys preferred
- Strong case management skills
- Law Review experience preferred
- Strong academic credentials from a top law school
- Member in good standing with the California Bar
Compensation:
Salary Range: $215,000 – $350,000 (DOE)
