Location: Seattle, WA

A leading international law firm is seeking a 4th–7th year Associate to join its Labor & Employment practice in Seattle. This is an outstanding opportunity to work on sophisticated employment litigation, counselling and transactional employment matters within a nationally recognised practice.

The role offers significant responsibility, direct client contact and the opportunity to work on complex employment disputes, class actions, wage and hour matters and employment-related aspects of corporate transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle employment litigation matters in state and federal courts
  • Conduct and defend depositions and attend court appearances
  • Draft dispositive motions, including summary judgment motions
  • Manage discovery strategy and drafting of discovery requests and responses
  • Oppose class certification motions and support class and collective action litigation
  • Draft settlement agreements, separation agreements, offer letters, arbitration agreements and restrictive covenant documentation
  • Advise employers on employment law compliance, policies, handbooks, leaves, accommodations, performance management and terminations
  • Conduct labor and employment due diligence in connection with M&A transactions
  • Lead matters and supervise junior associates where appropriate

Who You Are:

  • 4th–7th year associate
  • Experience in employment litigation and counselling matters
  • Strong legal writing and advocacy skills
  • Experience taking and defending depositions and appearing in court
  • Experience with wage and hour litigation, class actions and single-plaintiff employment disputes preferred
  • Employment counselling experience strongly preferred
  • Experience conducting labor and employment due diligence for M&A transactions highly preferred
  • Federal clerkship experience is a plus
  • Strong academic credentials
  • Experience at an Am Law 100 firm preferred

Compensation:
Salary Range: $260,000 – $420,000 (DOE)
