A leading national law firm is seeking a Corporate / M&A Associate with 3–6 years of experience to join its sophisticated transactional practice in Houston.
This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-level corporate attorney looking to work on high-value mergers and acquisitions across a broad range of industries. The role offers substantial deal exposure, direct client interaction, and the opportunity to work on both private and public company transactions alongside experienced dealmakers.
The ideal candidate will have strong transactional experience and a desire to take on increasing responsibility in a fast-paced, team-driven environment. Exposure to energy-sector transactions is highly valued, though not required.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Advise clients on a broad range of M&A transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, mergers, and strategic investments
- Manage both buy-side and sell-side transactions involving private and public companies
- Draft and negotiate transaction documents, including purchase agreements, disclosure schedules, and ancillary agreements
- Conduct and manage legal due diligence processes across complex transactions
- Coordinate deal execution, timelines, and communication among clients, counterparties, and internal teams
- Support strategic corporate advisory matters and general transactional work as needed
- Work closely with senior attorneys and clients on sophisticated deal structuring and negotiation strategy
What We’re Looking For
- 3–6 years of M&A transactional experience in a law firm environment
- Significant experience handling private and public company mergers and acquisitions
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and due diligence experience
- Excellent client management and communication skills
- Ability to independently manage deal processes and multiple active matters
- Strong business judgment and commercial awareness
- Experience with energy transactions is a plus, but not required
- Strong academic credentials
- Juris Doctor (JD) required
- Previous experience working in a law firm is required
