Employment Litigation Associate
Location: Portland, OR

A nationally recognised management-side Employment, Labor & Workforce Management practice is seeking an Associate to join its growing Portland office. This is an opportunity to work within a sophisticated employment litigation team advising employers on high-stakes disputes and complex workplace matters.

The role offers exposure to both litigation and advisory work across a broad range of federal and state employment laws.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent employers in employment litigation matters in federal and state courts

  • Contribute to case strategy development and overall litigation planning

  • Draft pleadings, motions and substantive briefs

  • Conduct and defend depositions

  • Review electronically stored information and manage discovery processes

  • Appear in court and interact with clients and opposing counsel

  • Advise clients on workplace law issues including wage and hour, ADA accommodations, employee relations and risk mitigation

  • Counsel on employment agreements, reductions-in-force and employment policies

Who You Are:

  • Relevant employment litigation experience

  • Knowledge of federal and state labor and employment laws including Title VII, ADEA, FMLA, ADA, FLSA and related state statutes

  • Strong academic credentials

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Experience providing employment counselling is advantageous

  • Admitted to practice in Oregon; California admission or willingness to sit for the California Bar is a plus
